Everyone has a soul purpose in life, whether it’s to have kids or be famous. Nathan Quinn's purpose in life is whales.
However, his whole world is begging to crash because all of the whales are being killed, making it hard to find the answer to his studies: Why do whales sing?
But all of this weird stuff is happing. Someone is putting all of their evidence at risk by sinking their main ship and stealing some of their taps.
Then he goes missing and Amy and Clay (Nate's Colleagues) think they saw him get eaten by a whale. But that’s impossible because a person can't fit in a whale's throat.
Maybe they are all going crazy.

This book has a big, dramatic plot and lots of dramatic characters; everyone and every conflict was always changing.
I don't think many people would like this book because there was a lot of biology stuff in it. I really liked it though.
I did not like Nate's and Amy's relationship at all. I don't think you should change a relationship at the end of a book and it seems like all of Christopher Moore’s books have that. It makes me mental.
But besides that, it was an awesome book.
