I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: The Last Days of Lorien (Pittacus Lore)

Lorien is peaceful, beautiful and perhaps the best place in the universe. But a place with absolutely no conflict is not exactly always wonderful.

Sandor, a average Cepan, is incredible bored on Lorien because their is absolutely nothing to do on Lorien. But when he creates excitement for himself by sneaking into a club, his life gets turned upside down.

Now he has to live with the annoying cepan who are always worried about someone coming in and attacking Lorien. Which he believes is incredibly stupid, 'cause its Lorien, the perfect Planet.

But when things get weird, everything changes. And maybe Sandor sneaking out could save his life and a young, important inhabitant on Lorien.

................................................................................................
I love these books. They take me out of reality and  bring me to Lorien.

I finished this book last week and I still remember most of it, which is pretty impressive.

I really wish that this book had the kids in it more or the other Cepan's. But at the same time, Sandor couldn't have been with the other responsible, older Cepan's.

I don't have too much to say, 'cause as usual, I loved this book as much as the last.

I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: The Search For Sam (Pittacus Lore)

After Adam almost dies, he starts a new life as a volunteer in Africa. But with One nagging him all the time, he knows he can't hide forever; he needs to fight against the Mogadorians; his kind he left because Adam believed they were in the wrong.

When he gets home, he immediately starts working for his kind again; to try and regain their trust. But working for people you know are trying to over take planet Earth is hard. Especially when you have One telling you to fight.

One is the only person who understands what Adam is going though. She is the only person who really knows his. She is his best friend.

But One is slowly fading away, so much that he doesn't see her as often. The only way to get her back is to go though her memories like he did before. But that scientist is dead. But he needs her. So he is going to do whatever it takes to keep her alive.

When he meets a new scientist keeping people alive, but in coma's, he meets a mad of the name of Malcolm Goode... and then his life takes another turn......

.........................................................................................................................

One of my favorite this about this series is people actually die. In most books, their is always suspense built about the possibility of someone dying, but they never really die. This series is different. It really makes you think that people are going to die, and in most cases, they do. It adds way more suspense then books that never actually kill off anyone.

I really liked how this book tied in with the main series and how it will effect main characters. I really hope "The Fall of Five" is in point of view of Adam.

I'm really annoyed that there are not any more "Fallen Legacy" books in POV of Adam, 'cause this one ended on a cliffhanger.

I Am Number Four: The Lost Files: The Fallen Legacies (Pittacus Lore)

Adam is Mogadorian, and not just any Mogadorian; he is the son of a high power Mogadorian.

He has been raised to kill. Nothing else matters to his kind. They have created Vat- born Mogadorians who are programed just to fight against the Loric.  No one cares how many people or Mogadorians die just to kill a single Loric.

When number One dies, Adam gets sent into her mind to try and uncover things about the other members of the Garde. But when he learns about her life, he realizes that maybe the people from the planet his kind destroyed are not bad.

Maybe his kind are the bad guys. But if his kind are really the villains, what is he supposed to do about it?

................................................................................

Wow, I actually am going for a Mogadorian.

In the Lorien Legacies (I am number four series), the Mogadorians are viewed as just warriors. I always thought that maybe they had personalities and were raised in a similar way that the Garde were raised. But they are not. Most of them are just made to fight and die. They're disposable.

There was a whole lot of conflict. Mostly character vs. self, and it was interesting. Because Adam really could have either went with what he was raised to believe in (fight against the Mogadorians) or with what is  right (fighting against them). It was interesting watching him struggle so much with the decision.

With this decision came a huge change in his personality. Who he was in the first page is a completely different person then who he became. Its weird how just making one decision can change almost every trait you have.

The Lorein Legacies are probably my second favorite book series just because they are written so well. The plot is always complex and the characters have storylines that are engaging. There is always so much conflict.

Heaven (Alexandra Adornetto)

      **Contains spoilers to "Hades"**

When Xavier asked Bethany to marry him, neither of them quite understood what Heaven would think of it.

But giving up everything they had besides each other was not part of how they imagined marriage. They did not think Seven angles would try to hunt them down for disobeying Heaven.

Xavier did not think he would have to leave his family.

Beth did not think of what Ivy and Gabriel would have to decide between.

Neither of them thought Gabriel would have to give up something so important to him.

But marriage is about sacrifice, so they should have already known what they were going to have to give up.

.............................................................................................

There was a build up since "Hades" for a war between Heaven and Hell. IT DID NOT HAPPEN!!! I am so disappointed in that.

This book had way too much going on. There were, like, 4 mini climax's, but not a real big one at the end. Mostly, because the ending was so predictable. It was what everyone thought would happen at the very end.

I was shocked by how much Gabriel changed in this book. He did things that he would have not even conciered doing at the beginning of the series. His dynamic change made everyone else seem static.

                            *******SPOILER ALERT******

There was so many story lines that did not end. Gabriel and Molly was the one that bugged me the most. There was so much build up for them to become a couple. I was routing for them. But they did not even say if they got together at the end or not.

Another thing; did Gabriel stay being an Arch angle? Was did bumped down because his disobeyed The Seven? Did his wings grow back? Does he still have human emotions???

Also, the fight between God and Satin. That would have been so interesting to read! Ont thing that really annoyed me was the fact that God never interferied with Beth and Xavier's relationship. Even Satin had a role in it!

But at the same time, it ended when it had to. Beth and Xavier got there "happily ever after". But It would have been nice if there was an epilogue saying if they had any kids, if Xavier's family forgave Beth or how Ivy and Gabriel were affected by Beth becoming a human.

Personally, I think Xavier should have died and then became an angle like everyone knew he would. Now, I think the ending is a little less sweet, because we know when he dies he will become an angle, and Beth won't be with him.

This book was good, but there are so many unanswered questions.

Hades (Alexandra Adornetto)

When Beth's friends decide to preform a séance, Bethany got a little nervous, but then she figured; what could go wrong?

Firstly, a demon was able to come to Earth and take Bethany to Hell, or Hades, to make her his prize.

Secondly, Hell is not a nice place for an angle to be living in, with all the suffering souls and demons.

And thirdly, angles can't get in or out of Hell without a portal.

But the most important question is; why is one of the highest ranked demons wasting time on making an angle his bride?

..........................................................................................

Well this one was a lot better then the first.

I think going to Hades was good for Bethany. She became less of the self- absorbed person she was at the end of "Halo" and more of the strong, independent girl I loved reading about at the begging of the book. Her change in personally was opposite from what it was in "Halo".

I really enjoyed the antagonist, because I don't really think he was so bad. All he really wanted was for Bethany to be happy. Even though he manipulated her, caused her pain, and wanted to kill the person she loved, I believe he did love her, in his own creepy, evil way.

The ending, again, I predicted. But not from the first page, which was nice. But it would be really nice for the ending to not be predictable.

I however, did not enjoy the lack of imagery. I know completely how all the character look, but it would be nice to know what Hell looks like besides its people and buildings. I want to know what the scenery is like, what colour the sky is, and all of the other little things.

But overall, it was an amazing book

Halo (Alexandra Adornetto)

With all of the bad things happening on Earth because of demons from hell, angles are coming down from heaven to towns with lots of bad things happening in hopes of saving humans from the evils of Hell.

Bethany, Ivy and Gabriel are angles that came to Earth. But no one knows why they chose Bethany to come; she is one of the angles who deals with people when they die, not one of the powerful ones.

Bethany decides to try and have every important moment teenage humans get, 'cause she does not believe she will ever come back to Earth. But when her want to do human things involve love, the whole mission of saving Venus Cove could be in jeopardy.
 ....................................................

That book had the most predictable ending ever. I guessed almost that exact ending when I finished the first chapter.

The theme to this book was horrible. I really hope what I got from
this book is not what most people get from this book; to disobey every rule you are given for love. To potentially destroy Earth as we know it for love. Not a good theme in my opinion.

The best thing in this book was characterization. Bethany changed so much throughout it. Personally, I think she became a dependent selfish girl, but was a selfless powerful girl at the begging of the book. But the change was interesting to watch.

Overall, I enjoyed this book. It was an easy read with nothing much too it. There was never a dull moment in this book, which was really nice.

Matched (Ally Condie)

The society decides everything where you work to where you live and everything in between. The society chooses these things perfectly, so there is nothing to complain about.

When Cassia's gets matched with her best friend, Xander, she is confident that she will fall madly in love with him. But when her matching screen flicks to another face, her whole world gets turned upside down.

The society told her Xander is who she will have kids with and marry, but when she gets to know the other face that flashed on her screen, she becomes doubtful of the society's decision.

Her desire to go against the Society could change everything, but it could also mean death.

.............................................................................................

This book is what I thought inside the capital in The Hunger Games would be like. Everything is very perfect inside the walls of the provinces, but the outer provinces are very imperfect, just like the districts were.

Getting used to The Society took a while for me, because for the most part, this book is not about the capital, but more about a girl falling in love.

I thought this book was amazing, because it made me think. The Society is neither black or white, but a definite Gray. Personally, I think it was more good then bad, but I can see how people could think The Society is the antagonist of he story.

This is not, however, a book you plan your sleeping schedules for. It was not suspenseful at all and the ending was incredibly predictable.

Another thing that bugged me, was how its written like their is some big love triangle in it, cause their isn't. It just takes awhile for her to figure out who she loves, but to the reader, it's incredibly obvious.

But all in all, it was a very good book. It has romance, a weird society and a very different world we live in, at least, for now.
